Mary has been with WJH for 27
years. She was a partner in Hart-Wood which became Wood, Johnson,
Heath, P.C. in 1999. She has a BBA in accounting from the University
of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant and a member
of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the
Texas Society of Certified Public Accounts.
Born in Marshall, Texas, Mary has always lived in Texas. She graduated
from Marshall High School and attended Kilgore Junior College and
Lamar Tech before graduating from UT Austin. Originally a math major
in college, she taught mathematics for one year at Bishop Byrne
High School in Port Arthur, Texas. That was enough to convince her
that she lacked the patience to teach; so, she returned to college
to obtain her degree in accounting.
Mary is married to Bic Wood, and they have one son, Trey, a daughter-in-law,
Paige, and a granddaughter, Emily, and four dachshunds, Lucie, Janet,
Bernard, and Tomimoto. When she is not working at WJH, Mary is an
avid reader, and she enjoys traveling.
Mary is the managing shareholder at Wood, Johnson, Heath and she
applies her extensive knowledge and experience in tax preparation,
planning, and dispute resolution to the benefit of WJH clients.
She also provides financial consulting and estate planning services.
